For those with spokes, while your garage is up to its windows in snow, sleet, hail, and ice you could check out your bike's spokes.
Get out that alligator floor jack and put it under the frame somewhere where it will lift the front wheel off the ground a tad. OK, so now you're cold. Go back in the house, stand by the fireplace and warm back up with a cup of coffee or cocoa. Now that you're toasty warm again, go back out to the garage and take a small wrench like a 3/8 or 10mm and tap each spoke gently as you turn the wheel. You should get a nice sounding "tink" type sound out of each spoke.
When you reach that spoke, and there's always one, that goes "THUNK" instead of "TINK" then you need to break out your spoke wrench and tighten it a little.
After all the "THUNKING" is gone. Spin the wheel and eyeball it to see if you've made it out of round by tightening too many spokes on one side. If not, then proceed.
Now go stand by the fireplace and warm up again using coffee or cocoa. Then go out and lift the rear wheel and do the same thing with it until all the "THUNKING" is gone.
Now that you're satisfied the spokes are all tight, go back in the house, get that cup of coffee and add a little Jack Daniels to it. You've earned it. Or if you drink cocoa, then you might want to add a little Hennesy's Brandy to it. Stand by the fireplace, look out the window, and watch it snow.
