81 Years of BMW: Gallery Picture

This was my 1962 BMW 250cc Single, one lunger. It had a cracked piston when I bought it for $250 in 1965 from a used car dealer. I replaced the piston, had it bored out 10 one-thousands and installed over sized rings. The rebuild was done in our spare bedroom with my wife’s approval, of course. We put a lot of trouble-free miles on this bike before trading it for a newer bike. The lady on the bike (Dee) was my wife at the time. She provided this photo. -- James
