2006 BuRP Motorcycle Rally Blog - Day 6

This year I'm publishing highlights of the 2006 BuRP rally, day by day in a blog. BuRP was scheduled for July 10-15 this year. The blog will also include my preparations for getting ready to take the ride to Maggie Valley, NC from the Wing Ding rally at Nashville, TN and my observations while there.

Some members departed today. Jack and Ricky left about 10:30 a.m. after a group picture was taken of the Perdition's Socks members in their new T-shirts just received last night. Here's a picture. Click this picture to see my growing picture gallery of the 2006 BuRP Rally, that includes a larger picture of the Perdition's Socks group.

Today was the Ride to Caesar's Head State Park. It was also time for our annual tour of the Wheels Through Time Museum. I took the OB-1 knapsack for a ride over to the museum. See pictures.

Vulcan008 (Tony) continues to do well in the hospital. He will be picked up when ready to be released. Parts to fix the bike have been ordered and tomorrow, the BuRP garage will be open to repair the bike here. Tony will then ride the bike back. Our fallback plan is to load the bike on Dan's trailer and Dan will ride his own bike home while Alicia drives the SUV and takes Tony with her. Of course, as always, plans are subject to change.

Tonight was pizza night with pizza available here in the pavilion.

Tomorrow will be a 140 mile RT ride to Deal's Gap and an outing led by Dok Meteor to Lake Lure for lunch. Jane and I will be leaving early tomorrow to head back to New Jersey. Hopefully, I'll have Internet access tomorrow night and will be able to continue this blog.
