Guided Motorcycle Tours By Walter F. Kern Part 2: Maine and my recommendations We returned to Yarmouth for the ferry trip back to Bar Harbor. The ferry, unfortunately, encountered very rough seas on the return trip. Ever ready with assistance, Reid found the best place on the ferry and supplied special pressure wrist bands to combat sea sickness. Motorcycle guided tours may not be everyone's cup of tea. There's still a lot of independence associated with motorcycle touring and most will not want to give up control to someone else. For those who give it a try, many are pleasantly surprised by the experience and become repeat customers. Others may value the experience but not want to do it again. I do think you owe it to yourself to check into the various guided tours that are available and look for a tour that suits you. Also, take a day or so to get used to the way things run when you go on your first tour. That will help to make the rest of the tour more enjoyable. Motorcycle guided tours are here to stay. An evolution has occurred that has taken a hundred years. The first touring riders just wanted to ride their motorcycles over that next hill to see what was there. These days, everything over the hill has been researched to provide you with a rich touring experience. And, you don't need to be rich to take a guided tour. Just be prepared for the best food, lodging and roads you've ever seen. At least that was my experience with Northeastern Motorcycle Tours.
