This bike is a 1983 BMW R 65 and is my favorite. I found it About three years ago with 14,279 miles on it. The previous owner had a fire at his house and the bike had been sitting under a tarp for five years. I cleaned the carbs, changed all the fluids, put on new tires, battery, rear shocks, new front fork springs, rebuilt the front caliper and tuned it up and it starts right up every time. I made the rear rack and brackets to add plastic Ammo cases to use as panniers. I also adapted an after market side stand to use in leue of the BMW self retracting stand that is original equipment on BMWs of that age. It is a great bike to commute to work on as it is so maneuverable and easy to mount and dismount as I am only 5'8" tall. Oh and I took an old trunk and added a 3" hole for my Chihuahua to ride with me. I also have a 2008 Suzuki Vstrom 650 and a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Classic ridden now by my wife. -- Jim Reinhardt
