Defect Summary:
Akoury is recalling certain AK AK88S motorcycle helmets, sizes XS, S, M, L, and XL.
These helmets may not adequately protect the wearer in the event of a head impact during a motorcycle crash.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218, "Motorcycle Helmets."
Consequence Summary:
A helmet that does not adequately protect the wearer from an impact can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Corrective Summary:
Akoury will notify owners, and will provide a replacement helmet or provide a refund, free of charge.
The recall is expected to begin October 1, 2018.
